Held in the Lion’s Den, Ford Field, Techweek came to Detroit for its second straight year. I was honored to volunteer and be a part of what was a highly successful two-day expo. Techweek, for those who live, “OFF THE GRID” is a weeklong series of technology-centric events capped off with a two-day exposition highlighting up-and-comers in the tech industry.
Working at registration I was able to interact with a variety of Techweek entrants. From the college-age developers who are just starting to push their ideas to the next level, established tech-companies, like Uber, and potential investors, everyone came in with a different mindset and left entertained and inspired. Events ranged from competitions to speeches and even tech-fashion shows, which sadly did not feature a flash mob to Kanye’s Stronger.
It’s amazing to take a moment, looking at your smartphone, and contemplate how far technology has come, but it is truly motivating to attend a conference like this and realize how we have gotten here, and where we are headed next.
